Sabri Safiye
Illustrator: İrem Jung

There’s a tiger’s eye hidden inside each of us!
Beloved for the fantastical worlds he creates in his mystery and discovery filled novels, Sabri Safiye this time tells the story of a child searching for her own path after a storm floods a small town. Blending reality and imagination, the story traces an adventure-packed journey of growth in which fear gives way to curiosity and loneliness to courage. It invites readers to discover the “tiger’s eye” within and to face life with its strength.
Overview
Çiçek is heartbroken when she isn’t invited to her popular classmate’s birthday party. It’s not like she has anything nice to wear to the party anyway. She’s delighted when she sees her grandmother’s old embroidered jacket, but its button is missing. Luckily, the problem is solved with a “tiger’s eye” stone button given by their neighbour, Captain. That night, a sudden storm turns everything upside down. Çiçek and Doctor, Captain’s tuxedo-patterned cat, are swept away by the flood. Thanks to a turtle and the comical captains of the fishing boat that rescues the duo, the adventure takes off…
