Mustafa Delioğlu
He was born in Erzincan. He has been illustrating since 1968, and he particularly illustrates children’s books in the studio he set up in 1975. Delioğlu, who has developed a unique style in this field, has held art exhibitions and was nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2013 and the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2022. The acclaimed artist received the Children’s Book Illustration Honorary Award from the Aydın Doğan Foundation in 2023, specially organized for the 100th anniversary of the Republic. For Günışığı Kitaplığı, he illustrated Gülsevin Kıral’s poetry book When Fleas were Barbers and Camels were Brokers (Berber Pire Tellal Deve, 2008) and Müge İplikçi’s short story book Flying Tuesday (Uçan Salı, 2010). The artist also brought to life The Hundred-Year-Old Plane Tree (Yüz Yaşında Bir Çınar, 2023) with his illustrations, the epic poem celebrating the 100th year of our Republic by Çiğdem Sezer.
