Çiğdem Sezer
Illustrator: Mustafa Delioğlu
“I am a hundred years old, but I am still
a young plane tree.”
Çiğdem Sezer, master author and poet of our contemporary poetry, celebrates our 100-year-old Republic with an epic poem. She associates the Republic, founded with unique mobilization under Atatürk’s leadership, with a majestic plane tree. She passes on the Republic’s ideals of glorifying independence, unity, inclusivity, and freedom to future generations. Enriched with clear poetic language and powerful imagery, the book is enhanced with unique colourful illustrations of the awardwinning acclaimed artist Mustafa Delioğlu.
Overview
I am a hundred-year-old plane tree in a very beautiful country.
My roots and branches
Reach into the soil, into the sky.
Name me, when this story comes to an end…
