Nihat Ziyalan

He was born in 1936 in Adana. After completing his army duty he began to work in Adana Municapality Theatre, then he went to Ankara Art Theatre. Finally he began to act at Turkish cinema generally known as Yeşilçam. In 1980, after Turkish cinema lost in crisis, he immigrated to Sydney. He wrote many poems, stories and novels as well, and received the 1st Çukurova Award in 2009. His first book published by Günışığı Kitaplığı is Sydney, Here I Come (Attım Kapağı Yurtdışına, 2010) and it tells the story of a young boy who tries to find himself in his trip extending from İstanbul to Sydney; the book is a part of Günışığı Kitaplığı’s award winner “Bridge Books” collection. His second book from Günışığı Kitaplığı is a story book: Love in Short Pants (Kısa Pantolonlu Sevda, 2011). Ziyalan still writes for literary magazines and lives in Sydney where he totally spends his time with literature.
