Neslihan Acu
She was born in İstanbul. She graduated from Boğaziçi University Industrial Engineering department in 1982. Her writing career began during her university years. Some of her translations were published in literary and translation magazines during those years. She worked as a journalist at İzmir Life magazine. She wrote articles for various websites and newspapers. In 2011, she prepared and presented a TV programme named “Book Club” and she hosted many authors. Some of her novels were translated to Bulgarian and Romanian. Her debut novel Meltem K’yı Kim Öldürdü? (2004), was followed by Kadından Donkişot Olmaz (2005), Ne Güzel Bir Hiçlikti Aşk (2006), Kuzgunun Şarkısı (2007), Artık Ayrılsak Diyorum (2010) and İyi Tanrının Çocukları (2015). Her first young adult novel Z-Age Loneliness (Z Yalnızlığı, 2017), published by ON8, stood out in contemporary literature with its realistic storytelling. In her young adult novel The Then-And-Now Family (Neydik N’olduk Ailesi, 2019), she deals with social issues in a humorous way. Her latest novel The Amazing Adventures of Barış (Barış’ın Akıl Almaz Yolculukları, 2024) is a fantasy novel which she wrote for children this time. She is a cinephile and a graphic novels collector. Acu lives in İzmir with her husband and she has a son.
