Mehmet Ali Öksüz
He was born in Mersin in 1980. After graduating from Dumlupınar University, Department of Turkish Language and Literature, he completed his master’s degree in Secondary Education Field at İstanbul University. He has been working as a Turkish language teacher since 2004. Currently he is continuing his master’s study in the field of children’s and YA literature at Mersin University. He discovered the magical power of words during his childhood through traditional Keloğlan tales in his primary school library. Working with the endeavour to create a similar effect on child readers, Öksüz told a fairy tale-like story of growth in his first YA novel Crane Feather (Turna Teleği, 2024). The book won the 2025 Macit Kılıçeri Novel Award.
