Elahe Behin

Born in 1979 in Baku, Azerbaijan and raised in Iran, Elahe Behin studied graphic design at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran. She taught at various universities for a period and worked in advertising agencies and on animation projects. In addition to Iran, she has produced graphic design and illustration work for publishers in the United States, Türkiye and various European countries. In Türkiye, Behin has illustrated several children’s books, including Belki De Çok Seversin (Ece Erdoğuş Levi, 2025), Kınalı Serçe (İlber Ortaylı and Şermin Yaşar, 2025) and Leylek Köyü (Samet Altıntaş, 2026). In 2026, she also illustrated Müge İplikçi’s children’s novel A Cat, a Chip and a Pile of Trash (Çip, Çöp ve Mia) for Günışığı Kitaplığı. Wishing to inspire emerging artists, Behin has in recent years focused on ceramic work in her studio in Shahrud, Iran’s center for ceramics.
