Şener Şükrü Yiğitler
Şener Şükrü Yiğitler, was born in 1984, in İncesu, Kayseri. After graduating from English Translation and Interpretation Department of Istanbul University in 2006, he completed his master degree in Turkish Language and Literature Department of the same university in 2010. He received his PhD degree from Turkish Language and Literature Department of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University in 2017. His first children’s novel Resimli Hayal Ansiklopedisi has received IBBY Turkey’s Jury Special Award in 2014. His second children’s novel Palyaçolar Giremez was published in 2018. He is currently working as a research assistant in the Turkish Language and Literature Department of Bitlis Eren University. He has many published translations and stories. His latest children’s novel A Distant Sea (Çok Uzak Bir Deniz, 2020) is a warm greeting to the small ferries sent to Lake Van from the Golden Horn. Yiğitler lives in Tatvan with his wife and son.
