Hatice Demir

Born in Aydın in 1985, Hatice Demir studied Turkish Language Teaching in Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. After finishing her university education, she started working as a Turkish Language Teacher in Mersin campus of ODTU Schools. She currently works as a teacher and an administrator in Izmir campus of the same school. Hatice Demir, stepped into the magical world of words when she was a child. She received awards in various poetry and story competitions during her middle and high school years. She continued to work on writing during her university years. In her debut children’s novel Kids of Acacia Square (Akasyalı Meydanın Çocukları) published in 2022, Demir uses a poetic language and makes her readers wonder about the mystery of an acacia tree in the village square that fell during the storm.
