Neslihan Önderoğlu
She was born in İstanbul. She studied Business Administration in Boğaziçi University. She received prestigious 2013 Haldun Taner Story Award with her first story book İçeri Girmez miydiniz ? published in 2012. She continued to write her stories and participated in outstanding story collections prepared for adults and children too. In 2015, Önderoğlu prepared two compilations. She wrote for several magazines and fanzines and worked as the editor of Sarnıç Öykü magazine. Her first novel Lend Me Your Voice (Bana Sesini Bırak, 2015) was a young adult’s novel of the “Bridge Books” collection of Günışığı Kitaplığı, and it was telling the story of a mother and her teenage daughter trying to build a life together in a lovely Agean town named Ayvalık. She gained attention with her storybooks Filler ve Balıklar (2015) and Sad Clowns Society (Mutsuz Palyaçolar Örgütü, 2016) which she wrote for young adults. Then she told about entangled worlds and unseen wounds in her novel named Tangled Moon (Ay Dolandı, 2017). It’s followed by a young adult’s novel named Weird Things are Happening Mr. Tarantino (Tuhaf Şeyler Oluyor Bay Tarantino, 2018) and she told the extraordinary story of movie characters and asked an impressive question about where are they going when they are tired of the scenarios of their lives. Her latest book is a storybook named Whatever You Want (Sen Ne İstersen, 2019) which includes some stories she had written earlier for ON8 Blog page. Önderoğlu, who received 2019 Melih Cevdet Anday Literature Award with her book Yeryüzü Yorgunları (2018), is recognized as one of the most distinguished storytellers of contemporary Turkish literature. She lives in İstanbul and has a son and a daughter.
