Cahit ÖkmenHe was born in 1963, in İstanbul. After studying Turkish Language and Literature in Ankara University, he worked as a literature teacher for long years. With his poems which were published in various literature magazines, and took place in some anthologies, he received 1990 Varlık Poetry Award, 1995 Behçet Aysan Poetry Award and 1998 Orhan Murat Arıburnu Poetry Award.
