When a child is offended, the silence grows…
Beloved author Sevim Ak, who recently celebrated her 30th year in children’s literature, is skillfully narrating the confusions of nine year old Ada, after the arrival of his baby sister to the family. The author is pointing out that the actual cure for the feelings of loneliness and depression a child is going through can be found in the warmth of understanding family members, open communication, friendship and nature. With its simple yet competent narration, this book will powerfully wrap up the child reader with love.
Overview
With the birth of his baby sister, the life of Ada becomes upside down. His “the one and only” days come to an end and his sleeps are being continuously interrupted by the cries of the new family member. His parents are so busy with the baby that they even do not notice Ada is silently getting out of home and going to the park nearby to have a good night’s sleep under a tree. Ada feels totally alone until one day he sees that strange black “thing” under a plane tree. He really wonders who is that man wearing a hat and living in this black, strange thing…
